The Organised Labour has urged the Federal Government to stop playing to the gallery and accept the fact that there is no escape route other than to accept the N30,000 minimum wage recommended by the Minimum Wage Tripartite Committee, saying it will not attend today’s meeting called by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.
According to leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, and the United Labour Congress of Nigeria, ULC, the only meeting labour could attend was to submit the N30,000 recommendation to President Muhammadu Buhari for onward transmission to the National Assembly for legislative action.

The Organised Labour insisted that any governor that did not have the ability to pay N30,000 minimum wage did not have the ability to govern, and should be ready to sacrifice his electoral fortunes in 2019.
Ngige had, in a statement by Prince Samuel Olowookere, Director (Press), Ministry of Labour and Employment, said today’s meeting “involving the Organized Labour, the Organized Private Sector and Government, scheduled for Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation by 6:00 p.m, is still on course and will hold”.
This, according to Olowookere, will be followed tomorrow, Monday, by the meeting of the National Tripartite Minimum Wage Committee.
Speaking to Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, the President of ULC, Mr. Joe Ajaero, said: “We have resolved not to attend tomorrow’s meeting. In the first place, the meeting is for what purpose? The Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage has finished its work since October 5, and recommended N30,000 as the new minimum wage. Again, what is behind the 6 pm timing of the meeting? After that, you are calling another meeting for 11 am the next day.
Minimum wage: Kwara workers protest, insist on N30,000
And the nationwide strike is commencing on Tuesday. The government is just playing to the gallery because they know what to do. There is an agreement, implement it and everything will be over. The same government has reportedly obtained a restraining order stopping Labour from going to court. Though as we speak, we have not been served, and we are hearing about it from the media, this is an old trick that will not work”.

Kogi govt still doesn’t know state’s wage bill despite two years of screening workers – NLC
The Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Onuh Edoka, says it is unfortunate that the state government is still not sure of its actual monthly wage bill, after over two years of a screening exercise that is still ongoing.
Edoka, who spoke on Saturday, said, “the state government does not know what the state wage bill looks like and are not too sure of the activities of those preparing her wage bill, and now wants to use the table payment to ascertain the true figures.
” The Kogi state government is only using the table payment to investigate those preparing the salaries of workers, when it discovered that the wage bill couldn’t have gone up even after a tortuous screening exercise that brought hardship on the workers”.
Edoka said it is a common knowledge that salaries are no longer prepared by accountants in ministries and parastatals, but rather by the accountant-general and auditor-general, who pay from a single source from government house in Lokoja.
In his words, “It was clearly an argument of labour at the discussion table that the N2.8billion figures as monthly wage bill of government was on the high side after two years of screening that saw many people lose their jobs, with several others cleared and yet to be returned on the pay roll.
” While at the discussion table, labour engaged the government that what it inherited from the immediate past administration was N2.6billion as monthly wage bill. We expressed our reservations on why the wage bill would still be going up, yet with many workers no longer on the payroll.
“Labour never made suggestions for table payment but rather it only challenged the bogus wage bill of the state which it felt unrealistic.
” When we met at the discussion table, the government through it financial management team said they will pay three and four months salaries to core ministries and tertiary institutions respectively.
” We now asked what was the total implication of the amount they want to pay from the money received by the government. They now said the total amount to be paid was N9.7billion, with the state monthly wage bill standing at N2.8billion.
” We now told them that the monthly figure was outrageous most especially that it inherited N2.6billion from past administration. We wondered why the wage bill is this high when several persons have lost job, and others are still not on the payroll since the screening began over two years ago.”
The NLC chairman, however, urged those who are defrauding the state using the Kogi State wage bill, to have a rethink, warning that such practices was only joepadizing the future of Kogites and the people.

2019: Gov Okorocha blasts Oshiomhole, says Nwosu’s guber ambition not in APC chairman’s hands
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has stated that the gubernatorial ambition of his former Chief of Staff and son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, is not in the hands of the All Progressives Congress, APC, national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has stated that the gubernatorial ambition of his former Chief of Staff and son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, is not in the hands of the All Progressives Congress, APC, national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
The governor stated this while dismissing the statement credited to Oshiomhole that he was creating political dynasty in Imo state.
Okorocha, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo and forwarded to DAILY POST on Saturday night, vowed that the illegality being perpetrated by the APC national chairman and the electoral committee chairman, Ahmed Gulak, during the party’s just-concluded governorship primaries in Imo state would not go unchallenged.

” It has also shown that disbanding Gulak’s Committee, Cancelling all that emanated from that Committee and setting up the Brigadier-General Ibrahim Agbabiaka Committee for the Conduct of fresh Primaries in the State were all deceitful. We will now work to know whether such deceit would destroy all that the duly and properly Constituted Agbabiaka’s Committee did.
“However, steps would be taken to prove that deceits do not pay. We won’t allow these deceits just go like that without having them challenged.”
He added that, “Comrade Oshiomhole in his efforts to justify all he has done, had accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of trying to build a Political dynasty. And the only reason he gave for coming up with such blackmail is that Governor Okorocha wants to go to the Senate and his in-law Uche Nwosu wants to be governor. He never explained how Okorocha being in the Senate and Nwosu being governor would Constitute a dynasty.
“We know the reason for all these. Time will tell. It has nothing to do with Uche Nwosu being an in-law to Governor Okorocha. Even the issue has equally put our democracy on trial, whether being an in-law to a governor should become an inhibition to one’s Political pursuit.
“Uche Nwosu will not allow his ambition cut shot by deceit. He will work to revalidate his Victory in all the APC guber Primaries Conducted in the state,” the governor said.

How To Register A Private School In Nigeria
School can be defined as institution which is made for the instruction of children or people under college age.
An institution for instruction in a skill or business: a secretarial school or a karate school.
What is private school and what makes it private?
Private
school in this context is where teaching and learning takes place and
the management of such school is managed by people outside government
circle. This can take place in a public building like a hall or a
private owned building. It is private because it is owned and managed by
an individual owner. Formerly schools are owned by government and
religious organizations. Schools which are owned by the government is
known and called government schools, as those owned by churches or
religious groups are known and called missionary school. While those
privately owned by individuals are called private schools.
The
number one priority of every parent is to send their child or children
to school to acquire knowledge from infant, and school fees for these
children may take more than fifty (50%) percent of what parents are
working for, depending on the number of children they have.
Nursery
and Primary school business in Nigeria has become more profitable these
days than ever before due to the number of children that are given
birth to every day. With such increase in the number of children given
birth to yearly — comes the need for more Nursery and Primary schools
that will cater for them, and the need for even more will continue over
time.
In those days, a single government or
missionary owned primary school in a community would be enough to cater
for the children of the entire community or communities beyond. Then,
there was no need for private nursery and primary schools. Today, the
story has changed — no single primary or nursery school would be able to
take care of the entire kids in a community, especially in urban places
like Lagos and Abuja.
It has also become the
general perception that the standard of education in privately owned and
managed schools are higher compared to that of the ill-equipped and
badly maintained government owned schools.
Sending
children to public schools is equally regarded as evidence of being
poor or poverty. Therefore, every parent struggle to send their children
to any available private school and it does not matter if that one is
even worse than the public school as long as it is called a ‘Private
school’. These general trends have combine to make investment into
nursery and primary school a worthwhile investment.
I
have seen someone who only manage to feed few years ago become a
millionaire through the small nursery and primary school he borrowed
money to start.
Some of the lowest nursery and
primary schools in areas like Abuja and Lagos charge more than N7,000 as
school fees, while good ones charge from N30,000 to as much as N500,000
school fees per term (I pay N75,000 for my 3years old daughter per
term) just to learn A.B.C
Imagine a school
charge N10,000 per term and you have 200 pupil, the amount you’ll be
getting from school fees is 10,000 x 200 = 2,000,000 Naira Two million
naira) per term and it would not take more than a million Naira to run
such school every term.
Now you can see that
investment in Private Nursery and Primary school is a worthwhile
investment that has decent profit returns. If you are ready to hit the
ground and get started, there are the requirements:
Land/building in a good Area
Prices
of landed property varies from place to place but you can get land in
some developing areas of Abuja and Lagos for about N600,000 to
N2,000,000. Do not opt to buy in isolated area where people are not
living, no parent would want to patronize you in such area.
Due
the inherent risk involved in child’s movement, parent will prefer a
school that is within their home, for easy pick up of their children.
Minimum plot of land is what you need to be able to accommodate the school building and playground.
Note:
Some people go for rented apartment — if you do not have enough money
to buy land and build your own house, rent an apartment, and use it to
raise money to build later
Erect your building
The
cost of building depends on the size and quality of the building you
want to construct. Your En gineer will be able to put you through all
these, sit down with him to discuss it properly.
Insist on good structure because, your marketing starts from there. The classrooms should be spacious at least.
Most
Nursery and Primary school class rooms are used to small and jam-packed
environment. Yours should not be like that. Water is very essential and
you need plenty of it in your school, get borehole that will supply you
water at all times.
Equip your Classrooms
Apart
from the normal chairs and tables (which you can get Carpenters to do
for you at a very good price) you also need to equip your classrooms
with other learning aids, parents will be happier to pay when they see
that your classes are properly equipped.
You
need plenty of materials that are used for children’s education and
Montessori. You need markers and large boards in all the classrooms,
depending on the class and the children’s age.
Employ qualified Teachers
If
you are the proprietor of the nursery and primary school, you do not
need any formal qualifications but if you are going to be the school
manager you need the minimum of Barchelor Degree and experience in
Management.
Your Teachers should have minimum
of B.Sc and experience in teaching or play-work. Teachers who are jovial
about children are preferred.
Register your School and Kickoff
Like every other businesses, you need to register your school as a company depending on what you want.
Approach the appropriate office to register your institution.
Once you have put all these in place, the next thing is to advertise your school/institution and get down to business.

Are you Worried about misplacing your Android device or having it stolen? Ease your fears by setting up a tracking system before your worst case scenario occures. It is best for your Android device to be connected to a Wi-Fi signal,GPS or mobile networks to pinpoint a fairly accurate location. You must also have a Google account for all of the tracking services available, both in-built or downloaded.
